Beth & Mike…an extraordinary couple: to say that Beth has a “green thumb” is an understatement; she has transformed her backyard into a botanical garden with her gift! …and Mike is a fantastic musician–we had the pleasure of rocking out with his band during the reception. Let’s put it this way: they are my kinda peeps!
So let’s start with an artistic shot, in honor of these super cool artists:
This is one of my absolute favorite shots because of Mike’s genuine smile.
The ceremony took place at a St. Michael & All Angels church, on Sanibel Island. Mike grew up in this church, making it so meaningful for Mike and Beth to say their vows at this familiar alter.
Mike and his band…I have to give credit for this shot to my visionary husband. When he learned that these guys were musicians, the Beatles came to mind, and Abbey Road inspired this photo:
A few details…Beth had such a gorgeous backyard reception! It was casual and full of ambiance with daisies overflowing, and mason jars filled with candles & sand. Mike’s band was set up and since he is the drummer, of course the ring shot had to incorporate his drum sticks!
We stopped off on the side of the road on Sanibel for some shots…Brandon usually shoots wide for the grand scheme of things, while I shoot close up in order to capture the details. It is funny how that is such a reflection of the different ways we approach life! He is always big picture, and I am always the details. Here, he caught ME in his big picture:
