My #1 secret to a beautiful and authentic family photoshoot: don’t force it.
This gorgeous family did an incredible job of going with the flow and allowing the real moments to unfold. The result is pure magic…but really…I think THEY are pure magic.

An engagement shoot in New York City with a rainy forecast called for some creativity, some intense weather watching, and ended up in the most perfect way possible. A rain drop filled evening at Chris and Lauren’s favorite bar, and a sunrise session on my last day in the city that turned out to be sunny! We truly got the best of both worlds, and I am thrilled to have met such an incredible couple. Thank you to Courtney at Fabulously Chic weddings for coordinating our crazy schedules and helping to make this happen.
Day 2 – Sunrise. We met at DUMBO for this iconic shot of the Brooklyn Bridge and the NYC skyline. It was so cold…in the mid 30s, but these New Yorkers toughed it out for some pics sans winter coats. I just love the gleam of the sun as it hits the high rise buildings on it’s way up in the sky.
In this image, you can see Chris and Lauren’s building in the background! I walked Lauren home and snapped a few pics of their building close-up, along with some images from the surrounding streets and one of their favorite areas to hang: Seaport.
Congratulations, Lauren + Chris! I loved working with you and I can’t wait for the wedding!
We are thrilled for Gabriella and Ryan to be published on the Knot’s “How They Asked” blog!
