Intimate Wedding Vows on Lover’s Key

Being ‘in’ a joyful surprise is always fun and rewarding-so when Stephanie of Along Came Stephanie asked if I was interested in capturing Jay and Lynn’s intimate vows on the beach, I didn’t hesitate! Jay commissioned Stephanie to surprise Lynn with a bridal bouquet, brunch on the beach and photos of the event. Lynn was simply expecting to privately exchange vows with Jay on their own–their marriage license from Pennsylvania allows for couples to marry themselves, so she truly did not expect another person to attend their ceremony. I was giddy as I “pretended” to photograph Stephanie and her husband, David while Jay and Lynn approached the exquisite bouquet that awaited them on the shore of Lover’s Key:

Lynn thought the bouquet was for “the couple getting their pictures taken,” and was completely shocked when Jay reached down and handed it to her, explaining that it was hers.

As she tearfully accepted the bouquet, she was still unaware of the brunch that was just a few steps away:

They exchanged rings and laughter, and became husband and wife right before my eyes. It was magical!

Lynn was so surprised that she could barely eat–and I was surprised to learn that she and Jay have been together for ten years! They definitely know how to keep romance alive!

Congratulations, Jay and Lynn! May you enjoy a lifetime of happiness and surprises together!
Love,
Stacy

White on white all day long ✨🤍
Wondering if a First Look is right for you? Here 5 reasons why it just works:

1. More Bride + Groom portraits + multiple locations vs. rushing to beat the sunset in one spot

2. It takes off so much pressure. I see it everytime: shoulders relax, breathing is easier and you are teamed up to enjoy the day feeling much more relaxed (which is a win for photos too!)

3. Hair and makeup is perfectly fresh

4. You’ll have time to join your guests at cocktail hour

5. You can enjoy a much more dramatic and private interaction vs not being able to talk while in front of an audience at the alter

The most common feedback I hear from couples after a first look: “I am so glad we did that!”
