We started out with the Q & A:

Fans wrote questions out on cards and the band members took turns answering them. And that was when I realized that these guys were so amazingly down to earth and easy to be around!

Then it was time for the Meet and Greet–check out our friend, Shavon get excited about meeting the members of Third Day! Shavon, we love you!

I was thrilled to meet Joy for the first time and I have to admit: I have a crush on her! She has such a natural talent for radio, that I am literally in awe! God has blessed her tremendously, and to top it off, she is fun, sweet and super easy to be around.

Then there is Jeff, the diva. Actually, he was’t that bad this time around! Only a few requests for his good side…and he even carried my camera bag around. I think he is trying to turn his image around.

These are two of my favorite images from the shoot. Joy just looks stunning, and Jeff’s smile is real. I know this because I know him, and when I called him out on trying to flash a fake smile, he started laughing. One of the great things about photographing your friends: the ability to detect fake smiles.

I was so impressed with how comfortable these two were in front of the camera:

I was trying to not make Jeff & Joy look too much like a couple, which was kinda challenging for me, since that’s the opposite of what I usually do…I mentioned this to while taking the following shot:

And immediately afterward, Jeff yelled to all of downtown Fort Myers: “We’re engaged!” Joy started freaking out, and Jeff started applauding, but not after one more outburst: “She said yes!” I still find this whole scene endlessly entertaining. This image is an outtake, but I have to show you the way it looked:

That was fun. fun, fun, fun. Jeff & Joy, thank you for being so easy to photograph & laugh with. I loved taking your pictures!

I look forward to getting to know Joy more and have no doubt that she will rock your world with her awesomeness. As for Jeff…well, I have wanted to say this for a while: he gets some flack sometimes and that comes with the territory of hosting a radio show, I get that…but I want the world to know that Jeff is one of the best examples of Christ in my life. He is someone that would lay down his life for another in a heartbeat. He is someone that I entrust frequently entrust my children to. He is someone that is honest, caring and extremely thoughtful of others. And, on occasion, he is somewhat of a diva.

I love ya, Jeff!

First, I have to give Larisa lots of credit for rocking out this awesome color combination. We had discussed color combinations a few weeks before (while watching a little Seattle football, I might add), and when the color yellow came up I got really excited! Then, when they walked into the studio, I was thrilled…Larisa nailed it. I was giddy with excitement that I could use my yellow lamp! Here they are, this beautiful-blue-eyed family that I love:

So…if you know Jeff, than you know that he can’t live without his iPhone. If you know his family, you know that they would love to throw it in the pool!

Jeff became increasingly afraid that he might not be able to update facebook…I love this:

Tommy & Kate: you are gorgeous, and some of the best kids I know. Thank you for being awesome.

Miromar Lakes Beach & Club offered amazing photography backdrops every where we turned:

Lisa and Carlos elected to have an intimate “reveal” and shoot all of these fabulous portraits before the ceremony…it was my dream come true to have time with these two without strict time constraints. The results are everything I envisioned.

The guests enjoyed a surprise champagne reception as Lisa and Carlos hid away before the ceremony…so I ran off with the wedding rings and snapped a few more pictures:

She is such a natural beauty, full of great smiles…Taylor: you rock! I love your easy going personality and I just want to know you more! I know that God has great things in store for you!

I couldn’t stop laughing when Taylor broke out these animated facial expressions! Priceless! We found a couch sitting outside some apartments…the “no trespassing” sign was all I needed; I was inspired. To have my girl trespass. But it was worth it! Downtown Ft. Myers can be so random, I love finding new things every time I shoot there!

Thank you for a fantastic session, Taylor & Sue. I loved spending time with you and I sure hope that Subway got the AC working! Phew, that was hot!

This baby was the sleepiest, most content little boy…he melted my heart. I didn’t even hear him cry until the very end of our session–he was just happy to wear cute hats and lay in cocoons and even sit in Ohio State buckets:

Those blue eyes and ruby red lips are so gorgeous…I kept spouting off at Megan about how beautiful she is. Sorry for sounding like Rain Man, Megan. But I really couldn’t help myself!

Part One: Meet & Greet Here’s John Cooper, lead singer for Skillet signing a guitar for Way FM. Heidi, the lead singer for the Shorts, is holding it. And check out the close up of John’s tatoo…isn’t it awesome?!  I love the constant reminder of forgiveness…where is my sharpie?

My friend, Kate also had her guitar signed…that pink guitar has quite a collection of autographs! Go Kate!

I would like to go on the record stating that John Cooper is the nicest, friendliest rock star ever! He was really outgoing and excited to meet his fans…you could feel his boundless energy!

Part Three: Skillet When my pals at 88.7 Way FM were talking about how Skillet was going to melt our faces off, I didn’t know they literally meant it! The pyrotechnics were ah-mazing. I had to run to the bathroom and make sure my mascara didn’t melt off. You could feel the heat clear back to the middle of Germain Arena!

Part Four: Toby Mac

He made quite an entrance!

Then they kicked it off with Tonight–I loved that John was wearing a Toby Mac shirt! I had no idea that Toby Mac’s crew was so big! Here are a few of ‘em:

Toby went into the crowd again–I caught five cameras shooting him at once (six, if you include mine)…I know there were more that I didn’t get in the frame. That is crazy!

I couldn’t take my eyes off the stage, so much was happening all the time. The dancing was my favorite…these guys can MOVE!

At the end, the confetti hit…I have never seen so much confetti in all my life (by the way, this is the perfect example of how Brandon and I work together…he shoots the big picture, and I shoot the details…we are perfect for each other!):

It was a long night, but you know it was good when you still want more! I want more! I can’t wait for them to come back, I have got to see it all again to believe it. It was just. that. good!

The evening started with a meet & greet for some fellow WAY FM listeners…Jeff led us all into a room where Jason Gray, Chasen, The Afters and Jeremy Camp were waiting to meet us. And greet us. Brand-o and I took pics for the most part, but I jumped in line for a pic and of course an autograph:

All of the artists were super nice and easy to talk to…they were genuinely interested in meeting their fans! It was so refreshing to see humble rock stars just chatting away with strangers. This stranger may not technically be so strange…if you are a baseball fan! Here’s Justin Masterson, pitcher for the Cleveland Indians, joking around with the band members of the Afters.

I thought this was awesome: a fan had her bible autographed! Such a good idea! All of the artists signed it—pictured here is the lead singer from Chasen.
