Adoration…that is all that I think about when I am around Jaime and Matt. Matt truly, wholeheartedly adores Jaime–it’s in his eyes, his smile, his touch…and every bit of it is so genuine. How I l-o-v-e photographing love! We started out with the “kids,” who were freshly groomed and camera ready:

And then it was time for a romantic canoe ride (I was just a little excited about it!).

I am already planning my next (er, first) canoe ride…it looked super fun. And these two made it look like a fairytale!

Wardrobe Change! (that was meant to be heard in my sing-song voice)

Jaime and Matt had scoped out our location ahead of time, where they met a man who explained that many couples carve their name into the bamboo trees…so he lent them his knife and we found their carving! (read: Matt found it. Jaime and I were lost six times by this point)

Here’s that adoration I was talking about…you can just feel it.

Congratulations, Jaime & Matt! Your heartfelt love and intense connection put such a smile on my face after our shoot. I think the world of you both and look forward to the wedding…I can’t stop thinking of ideas for us!

Engaged: Brian & Rachael Fort Myers Wedding Photographer, Set Free Photography

Rachael and Brian rocked this session despite the clouds and humidity on the beach. I was so impressed with their interaction in front of the camera–their affection was sweet, genuine and comfortable. And Rachael’s laughter was just infectious…I type this with a smile on my face as I think back to our session!

Brian: Wow…your expression on the left is fierce! Let’s whip this one out on the wedding day..love it!

Elaina & Dan enjoy a picnic! Naples Wedding Photographer, Set Free Photography

Perfection. That is what I think of when I recall this engagement shoot! It was 73 degrees, sunny with a little bit of a warm breeze…and the very gorgeous couple, Dan & Elaina, planned a picnic! What could be more fun to photograph than the love between these two? Seriously, I can’t think of anything. Well…except for the cases of girl scout cookies that have invaded my kitchen. But that is for another day.

Are you dying yet?

Because I am dying over here.

The stands of sun-drenched Spanish Moss are killing me. Dead away. And the tea…ahh, this is why I love my brides! They are all so creative and make my job a dream come true…Elaina, I love everything about your picnic! Your blanket & matching material was worth every penny (wink)!

We hung these lanterns from the tree branch…I was hoping to have sunlight streaming through them, while looking like a rustic chandelier of sorts…among windswept Spanish Moss…and it worked. I love it when a vision comes together in reality! Dan & Elaina: thank you for striving toward this vision with me! And thank you, hubby for prepping the lanterns for me! These are now happily hanging up on my patio, by the way.

Skippity doo-da, this is so romantic! Look at Dan’s expression…pure bliss. At this point in the shoot, I was a little overly excited about the light and the tree and the lanterns and Elaina’s dress. Just keepin’ it real!

I caught a lens flare and it just happened at this magical moment when Dan made Elaina laugh. LOVE! Dan, your spontaneity made for some of THE best shots! Thank you.

I want to do it all over again–it was so much fun! I can.not.wait. until the wedding in July and if this is just a preview to how fabulous the wedding will be, then I better prepare myself. Because I keep dying! Thank you for going all out with the picnic, you totally rocked my world.

engaged: Tom & Blair

We had a running, jumping start to our shoot–Tom & Blair are not only adorable, they clearly adore each other! These two shots make me smile:

I love these trees and all of their Spanish Moss…so very romantic!

The wind blew right at the perfect moment here, and gave us that oh-so-fabulous movement in Blair’s hair. The sun behind them makes me swoon…I love this light! And these two have beautiful eyes…wow!

We wanted a shot of Blair’s ring, but I wanted to take a different approach to the ring shot…I like my pictures to tell a story, but not this story: “this is the ring shot.” So, I asked Blair and Tom to snuggle up, ignore me but keep that ring finger out. Here’s what we got (I love!):

Blair threw on this awesome dress and heels…and the rest is history. This is one happy, gorgeous couple whose children will have the most amazing eye color imaginable! Thanks for rocking this session, guys!

[a glimpse] Cape Coral Studio Photographer, Set Free Photography

Today I would like to bring you a glimpse of our studio…we haven’t officially announced it here on the blog (only on facebook), so here it is, the official news: We are opening a studio in Cape Coral! Wahoo! A grand opening is in the works, as well as a complete photo shoot of the entire place…until then…I hope you enjoy a little peek:

This is one of my favorite shots…this lamp is the FIRST thing that I bought for the studio. The color pallette started with the lamp shades, and everything fell into place after that…if you look closely, you can see the entire place.

Wedding Wednesday: Engaged! {katie & tom}

Katie & Tom are stylin’…I think some of you know that I swoon over dresses with pockets…so when I saw Katie’s dress, I had to get the details. And then I claimed her as my pal, because dress pockets just bind hearts together. It’s a known phenomenon.

I love this picture for so many reasons…first, Katie’s playful expression and the way her hair is falling on her face…and then there’s the smile that Tom is flashing her…makes my heart skip a beat! …and I love this picture because you get to meet Thor, the stud:

Thor’s expression cracks me up. It’s like he is saying “Seriously? You brought me to a park and I have to watch you guys make out up there?”

A competing favorite…I love how “into each other” theses two love birds are. This makes me want to grab my hubby and set up a tripod for some new pictures of us!

Now here are some shots that every guy can appreciate…and Tom is a guys’ guy so I know he is thrilled that we got that body bump in there.
Heck, I am t-h-r-i-l-l-e-d about it! Again, I’m thinking about grabbing the hubby for a photo shoot…all dressed up in Seahawks gear.

ps. Seattle is going to dominate this year. ohhhh yes I said it!

To Tom and Katie: I had so much fun photographing the two of you! (oops, the three of you. Sorry, Thor!) Thank you for your creativity and willingness to jump around in the heat…you really pulled it off; no one could guess how sticky & humid it was from looking at your lovely faces! Congratulations on your engagement, I couldn’t be happier for you.

I am typing this with a big, goofy grin on my face. My daughter is sitting on my lap with the same expression…you see, we are both captivated by the romance found in Brian’s proposal to Jen. Their story is simple, sweet & includes handwriting with a sharpie (two of my favorite things are handwriting & sharpies). Jen mentioned to Brian that she wanted a new pair of chucks while he was out of town…and when he returned, he brought her these:

I can hear a collective “awww!” I know, it’s so thoughtful. Brian, your thoughtfulness will be told to many…and now my daughter’s future fiance has ALOT to live up to!

Here’s one more look:

I love my job. Can I just say that? Hearing all kinds of different and romantic wedding proposals is one of the the privileges that I treasure most about being a photographer. After engagement sessions, I always drive home with a renewed hope for marriage and what it means to find your soulmate.

Jen & Brian: I had so much fun with you! Brian–on your wedding day, I give you full permission to pinch and tickle Jen! You both were so fun, I l-o-v-e-d the giggles and the playfulness!

sneak peek for Selene & Rafael

A gorgeous day for a gorgeous couple–it was perfection! We had blue skies and sun right up until I snapped the last shot…I was so thankful. I love the playfulness of Selene and Rafael, they are so easy to be around and it was clear that I was in the presence of true love.

Looking forward to the wedding, you two…Selene, you are going to be an absolutely stunning bride (and Rafael, we know you are going to be every bit as handsome!)

Fashion Friday featuringTristen & ErekFort Myers Photographer, Set Free Photography

It’s been a while since I have done a fashion friday post…Tristen and Erek inspired to me to get back to it! Just look at them–it’s all fabulous…the dress, the heels, the hair on her | on him: the tie, the vest, the rolled up sleeves! Erek asked me if the tie was too much and Tristen and I both answered a resounding: “no!” The tie is my favorite. And the pockets on Tristen’s dress..those are my favorite, too.

I tried to narrow it down to just a few pictures so they would have more to look forward to after this sneak peek, but I coudn’t help myself…I AM this couple…ten years ago, two kids ago…when I first met my hubby…sigh.

Tristen & Erek: you guys rocked it…and we are going to have a wonderful time with your wedding portraits! Can’t wait!
