After the ceremony, we headed out to the reception venue, The Verandah. The southern feel to Elaina’s style was perfectly accented by this gorgeous property.

I loved Elaina’s touches of stripes, ruffle and navy blue all over the reception:

Laurie gave a super entertaining speech…Elaina & Laurie, I always wanted a sister and seeing the two of you only deepens my desire! Your love for each other truly warms my heart.

Dan’s best man couldn’t make it to the wedding, so he thoughtfully recorded a speech for Elaina and Dan to watch online. I have to meet this guy someday–he was hilarious and sentimental…he had everyone laughing and crying.

When we hang out in public, people stop her all the time…she is constantly being recognized for her stellar performance on ABC 7′s breakfast bar TV commercial. Michelle’s reading from scripture was heartfelt, tearful and very emotional. Love you, Michelle!

It always starts with the dress. Erin’s was so perfectly her…simple elegance.

Behind the rings are letters that will be used during the ceremony…you’ll see!

When I saw Erin’s colors, I’m sure you can imagine: I got very excited. Her bouquet was simple and beautiful and I would totally copy her if I got married again. To my same husband, I mean.

Erin and Matt exchanged gifts (separately)…here they are reading a card & a text message. She bought him a bike!

Lydia & Sarai are so sweet as they watch Erin get dressed. They really love her so much…Erin has a gift with children, and all wedding long children were flocking to her side. She was always ready to receive them with open arms and warm smiles…she reminds me of Cinderella. I can’t explain it, but I thought of Cinderella every time I saw her.

Stunning. Erin, you are absolutely gorgeous.

We found a bike and it was perfect–it matched Erin’s colors and it went along with the theme of gifts that Matt & Erin exchanged. Erin: thank you for humoring me and sitting on this bike! I love this picture!

The wedding ceremony & reception were held at the Club at Grandezza…it’s gorgeous everywhere you turn, so I was thrilled to start out shooting some of Jen’s details at this great venue!

Kicking things off with my favorite: the ring, flowers & dress…I live for this stuff. Really, I do!

The rings were tied to this exquisite piece made by Melody over at Abora Rora Florist, home of He, She & Me.

Jen’s dress is from Alfred Angelo…and her bouquet is also Melody’s creation. I love love love the Japanese inspired details that Jen & Chris chose. I have never seen such an exotic bouquet, and I couldn’t stop admiring it!

I can hardly look at the following image without crying…Jen’s Dad giving her hand to Chris. Literally giving her away. My heart can’t take this…I immediately think of Brandon giving my daughter away and I cry! And then I rejoice that these traditions still exist, and that Dads have the privilege of walking their daughter down the aisle, entrusting her to her husband. It’s a beautiful, symbolic moment. Pass the tissue, please.

Okay, now that you have gotten comfy, where to start? Let’s start from the beginning…I met A’ndrea over eleven years ago while we both worked at the MGM Grand in Vegas. We worked in the convention center, and our cubicles were kitty corner, so naturally we became friends. In A’ndrea, I found a life long friend, a room mate, a soft spoken soul of beauty, mystery and love. I was and continue to be blessed by our friendship, no matter the distance that separates us. A’ndrea was in my life for so many momentous events–she was there when I became a Christian, she was there when I met Brandon, and she was our one & only witness when we decided to elope in our jeans on a Wednesday almost ten years ago! She was also the first person I told that I was going to be a mother after I told my family, she introduced me to oysters, mosaic table making, and we even had some fun with painting our own artwork. I treasure these memories and am a better person because she is in my life. I love you, A’ndrea Jeanne!

A’ndrea and Steve met after Brandon and I moved to Oregon, and I have always been disappointed that I didn’t get to be a part of such an exciting time in their lives! When they announced their engagement years later, I was thrilled for my friend. We had to decide whether I would be in the wedding or shoot the wedding. Or both. I am so glad we decided that it was best for me to focus on just shooting the wedding–I enjoyed it so much through the view of my camera lens and it gives my heart such joy to provide A’ndrea & Steve with their wedding photo memories. I hope you love them, A’ndrea & Steve…you lovebirds!

The wedding venue was absolutely gorgeous; it was the home of A’ndrea’s sister & brother in law: Cathleen & Tim. They did a fabulous job hosting the wedding! I can’t even begin to explain how perfect every detail was. Cathleen & Tim’s home itself is extremely gorgeous…the decor, the landscaping, the Degas painting, the fresh flowers, the colorful chandeliers, the natural light (oh, the light), even the doorknobs…it all rocked my world. Naturally, the house was flawlessly transformed in to a dream-like wedding venue with out a single detail overlooked. I could cry just thinking about how everything came together so beautifully for A’ndrea & Steve.

A’ndrea’s dress looked like it was custom made for her body, and I loved every inch of it. It is a Mori Lee gown, and she purchased it at Bowties Bridal, in Las Vegas.

I love it when I learn about meaningful things on the wedding day. Pictured on the left is a bracelet worn by A’ndrea’s grandmother on her wedding day. Her grandmother’s photo can be seen in the background. On the right, A’ndrea & Steve’s wedding rings are dangling from keychain that A’ndrea had custom made for Steve as part of his wedding day gift. It’s a boxing glove, with their last name on it…Steve & A’ndrea own & operate a boxing gym in Las Vegas, Boe Boxing. Brandon placed the rings on the keychain and when he dangled them, I almost tackled him from across the room in sheer excitement..I love his ideas.

The bridesmaid dresses are Alfred Angelo, and the colors were exquisite!

I gasped when I saw the flowers…A’ndrea’s bouquet is breathtaking. Cathleen warned me to not show the flowers to A’ndrea or she would start crying…I’m pretty sure I caught a tear in Cathleen’s eye when she said that!

Time to get dressed! I always love this part, it’s one of my favorite moments…

A’ndrea, my love…you are elegant and divine! Such a beautiful, beautiful bride…I know I said it like Rain Man all night long. But I meant it every. single. time.

One of my favorite things about A’ndrea is how funny she is. She doesn’t even try to be, but the girl is just quirky & hilarious…I loved watching her laugh and laughing with her.

The handsome groom:

Here’s Steve with his Mom. Mom-son shots kill me because I think of my baby boy and then I want to stop time. My baby boy is the most romantic male in my life…and I don’t want him to grow up!

The boys…I love their expressions, they were laughing & joking…everything that makes for a great picture happened here!

This might be the best reaction shot I have ever taken. Just look at A’ndrea’s Dad’s face and his outstretched arms…I cried when I saw this image. I miss my Dad!

I love this next picture for two reasons: 1. That is A’ndrea’s sister, Nicole, walking down the aisle. 2.You can see both Steve & A’ndrea’s Moms in the background. Perfect-o!

The entrance…and the reaction. Steve’s face is priceless as he catches his first glimpse of his bride. He looked like this all night; like a man who just won the lottery. And he did. I couldn’t agree more with Claudia, one of the bridesmaids, who told him: “Steve, you got the best one.”

Somebody pinch me, did I really capture these two precious kiddos? I couldn’t have posed them any better, and they just did this all on their own…they are absolutely adorable!

A’ndrea, Steve and Taylor performed a sand ceremony, symbolically demonstrating that they are combining their lives as one, never to be separated. I meant to ask where they found sand that matched Taylor’s dress perfectly!

Ahhh the joy on their faces! Another one of those favorite moments:

The next shot is possibly my favorite shot of the entire wedding, taken by Brandon. I’m just going to say it: my husband rocks the camera!

I instructed A’ndrea to look at her man and think: “oh yes, he’s mine.” Fabulous! A’ndrea, my russian Tasha, you take direction so vell. (that was Russian for “well.) ha!

The happy couple struck this pose, saying it is “their pose.” My heart, it sings.

These are some special shots…the one on the left is special to me, because A’ndrea’s “something borrowed” is that flower in her hair. And she borrowed it from me. *tearing up now!*

The shot on the right is another one of my favorite shots, because it speaks a thousand words…and they are all coming from the look on Cathleen’s face. Brandon caught this expression on Cathleen, and when I see her looking so joyfully at her sister, now happily married, I am blessed to witness the love of an older sister. Cathleen and A’ndrea are extremely close, and Cathleen not only hosted the wedding at her home, she planned most of it and went above and beyond to make this day a fairytale for her sister. In Cathleen’s face, I see love, pride and joy…and now I am full-on crying.

Cathleen, your generosity & kindness inspire me.
ps. I know you have three younger sisters, but I have always wanted a sister. What I’m saying is, will you please adopt me?

Remember earlier, when I said A’ndrea was hilarious, just being herself? This is what I mean:

Here I am with the kiddos…this was approximately 30 minutes after my nervous breakdown. I pulled it together, but on the way to the opening I was sweating bullets and silencing my children after the boy karate chopped the girl in the neck “on accident.” The screaming in the car sent me over the edge…I almost came undone…but thankfully they could see that I was literally teetering on the edge of sanity and we had a nice, quiet ride to the studio with lots of deep breathing exercises.

I didn’t like the light there, so I asked Brandon to take another shot. Please excuse this picture…I included this for one person, and one person alone: Tashia Webber: “Does my hair look okay?” Gosh, I missed you last night!

My favorite chair ever…and the bathroom, which I named “the detail room.” All of the pictures in there are wedding details: shoes, dresses, flowers, rings…my favorite things!

Shooting area…not the best picture I’ve ever taken, but I wanted my Dad to have a full view of the place!

This is the viewing area, where clients come and comfortably view the photos from their session. I love offering the capability to view pictures in a large format, rather than being limited to the computer screen!

Here is our office…it is adjacent to the viewing area. Now that we put yellow accents in the viewing area, I am determined to find yellow office chairs. If you see any, please let me know!

Before everyone arrived, our dear friend Jeff presented us with the MOST amazing gift ever. EVER. It’s a Dave Matthews Band gold record, framed, engraved and dedicated to us. The lyrical quote is absolute perfection: “Turns out not where, but who you’re with that really matters.” The thoughtfulness of the gift was overwhelming…I cried…and Brandon got choked up too, you can see it in his eyes in this picture:

This wreath is screaming my name…you know me and orange & turquoise…we are one. These colors define my studio and I want this for the front door. I want it bad!

Ahhh the giant flower. It’s so fabulous, it’s close to stealing my heart. But I shall remain true to orange & turquoise.  Oh but that enormous pearl…swoon!

I have no adequate words to express my love and adoration for the following wreath. I die.
